I have been a huge Liberty Jane fan as long as I have loved American Girl. I discovered both nearly two years ago when I bought a Bitty Twin for my niece. I planned on selling the other twin until the dolls arrived and I saw them in person. I fell head-over-heels and I’ve never looked back. This new hobby took on a whole new dimension when I discovered the superb designs available from the handful of elite entrepreneurial seamstresses online, which, of course, includes Liberty Jane. Greatly inspired, I started designing and sewing for my own collection, which now included an 18 inch AG doll. Instant obsession! Micah is the creator of the Heritage Doll Fashions brand, and the author of the Heritage Clothesline blog.  She is well known for her amazing doll clothes designs, and absolutely exceptional photography. Before I had my own, I would flip through the catalogs again and again and plan out my future collection. On my 8th birthday, I received Samantha and it took off from there! Another thing I distinctly remember, was watching my older sister sew. It was always fascinating for me to see what she would create and I wanted to do the same thing. When I was twelve, a good friend of my mother’s noticed that I was interested in sewing and every Thursday afternoon for years we got together and I learned how to sew. Hi 18 inch doll clothes designers! If you’ve enjoyed all our patterns, and want to learn how to draw fashion designs based on the 18 inch American Girl Doll form? This video should show you how to get going with it.As a side note, it’s been a real joy to host the Liberty Jane Design Contests for the last year! Our contests have regularly had the most responses in the how-to-and-style section of Youtube for the time they are running, and currently we have several of the most responded to videos of all time in that category, so obviously lots of girls love to design and draw outfits for their 18 inch American girl dolls… And don’t forget, we have a nice set of free AG doll clothes patterns, download them now!
